Our Hidden Gem - The Bristol Senior CenterPatty & Jason shared the many many ways they serve the Bristol and surrounding communities - from pre covid, present to future plans. A few tid bits you may not have known: Patty & Jason have worked together for over 20 years (both coming from the Parks and Rec Department) it's FREE to be a member of the senior center if you are a Bristol Resident Meal distribution NEVER stopped during covid! Super hero status! there is a social worker on site that helps with medicare, part A, B + D, food stamps etc. Their Wii bowling team are champions! Items made in the woodshop are sold at the craft fair in Oct (tray tables, cutting boards etc.) You can rent a ground plot for ($20) to plant flowers or vegetables Senior Center was a vaccination location - completed 3,000 vaccines!!!! District 7890 Conference is THIS weekend - click here to register: Mother's Day Flower Sale - Pick up of flowers will be May 7 + 8 (flyer below) If you have any additional sales - get them to Judi Ann by this Thursday! So far we have sold 76 plants! In house Club Challenge - the person that sells the most flower baskets wins a $50 gift card, 2nd prize gift card to Bagels Plus (thank you Lee)
Grand re-opening of Barnes nature center - May 22nd - Spring Fair We will have an info table about Rotary and sell pre-packaged sandwiches from BARC, chips, soda + water. We will also hold a raffle. Money raised will go to our community fund. Barnes will hold a tag sale that day if you have any items to donate.
Scholarship committee met last week to review students chosen by Scholarship America. Richie family will be donating this year, we will match donation. Date of awards night:-Sunday, June 13th (entire club is invite + guest) Location: Chippanee Country Club
