Hybrid Meeting - Let's Talk Farmers Market!

We are back to meeting in person!  This week we also offered a hybrid option.  

The New Parkside Cafe - 224 N Main St, Bristol - back/side room

Thank you to Dawn (Marketing/ public relations for City of Bristol) + Jim for sharing information about the Farmers Market Opportunity
Notes from the discussion:
* Dawn has helped manage the Farmers market on the behalf of the city for the past 3 years
* Jim has offered to relieve some of the pressure of running the farmers market using his experience when he was at the Chambers of Commerce
* 20 weeks commitment - June 18- Oct 10  (9-1)
* Responsibilities: Coordinate vendors, advertise, take payment, 
* Goal to have Farmer's market run through a non-profit - we have 1st dibs, 1st year would be a pilot program
 * Agreement letter has been drafted with an attorney
* Able to utilize city hall part-timer for 7 weeks, Jim will work most of the weeks, 
* This is a way to get  New members
* City will celebrate and acknowledge our 95 years on May 27th
?? How many ideal volunteers for a morning setup? 2-3  (Jim + city staff (public works) + Rotarian)
* 2 Non-profits will join the market each week
* Location: Memorial Blvd or Rockwell Park or?
* Funding ..city put in 5k for budget + each Vendor  pays $100 each season
 * Application s will go out to vendors April 1st and they have until the middle of May
 
THIS FRIDAY MARCH 11TH- Meeting with the Bristol Rotary Club Board to vote on our participation - LOOK OUT FOR EMAIL

  • Cost: TBD - in 2019 our club put in $333 towards the project

April 29, 2022 - District Conference - South Bridge Hotel, MA - $200 per person - Saturday - Murder Mystery, service project worked in!
NEW - - Dates TBD - Preparing and serving dinner at Zion Meals for Neighbors
-Our club will take the 3rd or 4th Wednesday on each Odd month
* we will prepare 40 meals - 1/2 to be served in the newly painted basement of the church, 
 

Rotary Dues due no later than July 1, 2022

If you want to donate to the Foundation or Polio Plus we leave it up to the member.

Checks made payable to “The Bristol Rotary Club”

3rd option pay in 3rds. (February 2, 2022 @ $55, April 12, 2022 @ $55, and June 28, 2022 @ $65)

2nd option pay half now ($85 by February 2, 2022) and a half later ($85 by April 12, 2022.)
