The 2023 Bristol Rotary Scholarship Fund awards program kicked off, on Dec 1, 2023. Each of our 7 high school guidance offices received the Karl J. Schwartz information to advertise to their eligible students. Jim will be checking with each of the offices over the next week or so to see if they have any questions or issues. The deadline for applications is early March, with notification of awards in April. This year the Scholarship Board approved offering seven (7) new scholarships A big thank you to Jim for all of his efforts on this important committee.
Getting to know Sarah
Sara Jane Rita Lucian, proudly from Waterbury, attended church-ish. Middle of 3 sisters, has 3 nephews, is 36, and recently met a guy. Family is not too far away. Explained how she is always metaphorically spinning plates and tends to be her own worst enemy when things get too busy. One of the many hats she wears is being a yoga instructor. She explained the 8 limbs of yoga. She shared the importance of just sitting, noticing your breath, thinking that you have a white marble inside, and watching it move, YOU HAVE A CHALLENGE - IF YOU TRY TO SIT AND JUST BE EACH DAY THIS WEEK SARAH WILL BUY YOU A COCONUT CUSTARD PIE
We learned about her many jobs, Friendly all thru HS, Waterbury Boys and Girls Club, Imagine Nation Early Learning Center, Bristol Boys, and Girls Club, Maggie McFlus, and Flair. She invited everyone to the 22nd annual Wow event at the Aquaturf on May 2nd, (flyer below) We also had the opportunity to purchase Taste of Bristol Tickets.

Students are preparing for their Mr. BCHS fundraiser, they have raised almost $2,000 for the Make a Wish from Powderpuff football game, with guests coming in next month.

Sarah, was happy to watch her first UConn men's basketball game, attended with Peter Kelly, and finalized the Blues schedule, George is throwing out the first pitch
